Language. The English version of this Privacy Policy is the sole authoritative legal text. If the App shows a translation (including an on-device machine translation), that translation is for convenience only. If there is any conflict, the English text controls.
This Privacy Policy explains how DictoEaso Inc. (“DictoEaso,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information in connection with the DictoEaso mobile application (the “App”), the DictoEaso marketing website, and communications with DictoEaso support.
1. Summary
DictoEaso is designed primarily as a device-local practice app:
- Your nickname, custom decks, transcripts, and progress are stored on your device.
- The App does not create user accounts, require email registration, or sync learning materials through a DictoEaso cloud account.
- The App is sold as a one-time paid download through the Apple App Store or Google Play where applicable. It is not a subscription product and does not use RevenueCat or in-app subscription billing.
- Some features use on-device Google ML Kit (and similar) components, which may download models to your device and process data locally.
- You may choose to share milestone cards or practice results through your device’s system share sheet; that sharing is under your control.
- Our marketing website is primarily informational and does not offer website accounts.
2. Who We Are
DictoEaso Inc. provides the DictoEaso App and the DictoEaso marketing website.
DictoEaso Inc.
Alberta, Canada
Email: support@dictoeaso.com
3. Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to the DictoEaso mobile application, the DictoEaso marketing website at dictoeaso.com, and communications with DictoEaso support.
It does not cover third-party websites, apps, or services you open or share to (including messaging apps, social networks, Apple, Google, or your device manufacturer’s services), which have their own policies.
4. Information Stored Locally
The App stores and processes the following categories of information locally on your device (and, if enabled by you, in your operating-system backups):
4.1 Profile and Preferences
- Display name (nickname) and avatar selection
- Interface language preference and appearance (light/dark) preference
- Practice-language selection and related onboarding choices
- In-app settings (for example, dictation input preferences)
4.2 Decks and Study Content
- Custom decks and related text or hints you enter or keep after OCR
- Transcripts, practice records, and related previews
- Local progress, streaks, milestones, and similar stats
- Optional local caches (for example, on-device translation cache for ready-made UI elements)
DictoEaso does not operate a cloud library that stores these learning materials on DictoEaso servers for account-based sync.
5. Camera, Gallery, and OCR
When you use scan or import features:
- the App accesses a photo you capture or select;
- text is extracted on device (via on-device OCR using Google ML Kit or similar components);
- the App keeps the text you accept into a deck, not a DictoEaso cloud copy of the photo.
The camera or gallery picker typically provides a temporary file path managed by the operating system or picker plugin. DictoEaso reads that file for recognition and does not upload OCR source images to DictoEaso servers, and does not intentionally store OCR source images as part of your long-term deck library. Temporary files may remain in OS or app cache until the system clears them.
Do not import images containing third-party sensitive information you are not authorized to process.
6. Permissions
Depending on features you use, the App may request device permissions such as Camera and Photos/Media (or equivalent gallery access), and storage or files access as required by the operating system. You can deny or revoke permissions in system settings; some features will then be unavailable.
7. Limited Information Processed Off Device
Even though learning content stays on device, the App or website may still involve limited off-device processing:
- Google ML Kit and similar on-device libraries may download language or recognition models to your device. Processing of the relevant inputs is intended to occur on your device.
- Text-to-speech or speech components may use on-device or platform speech resources and may download voice or language resources to your device.
- Store platforms may process purchase transactions under their own terms when you buy the App.
- Website hosting and security providers may process standard technical request information when you visit dictoeaso.com.
We do not use in-app advertising SDKs, IDFA/AAID for cross-app advertising tracking, Firebase Analytics, or Firebase Crashlytics in the shipped App experience described here. If these practices change, we will update this Policy before or when the change rolls out.
8. App Store and Google Play Purchases
If you purchase the App through the Apple App Store or Google Play, the applicable store processes the purchase under its own terms and privacy policy. DictoEaso does not directly receive or store your complete payment card number.
The applicable store may provide DictoEaso with limited transaction, financial reporting, refund, regional, tax, or fraud-prevention information relating to App sales. We use that information for business operations, compliance, and fraud prevention—not to build advertising profiles.
This version of the App does not include automatically renewing subscriptions, recurring billing, RevenueCat entitlements, or in-app purchase subscription management.
9. Marketing Website
Our website is primarily informational. It presents product information and links to this Privacy Policy, our Terms of Use, and Support.
Our hosting and security providers may process standard technical request information, such as IP address, browser or device information, request time, and requested page, for website delivery, security, troubleshooting, and operational purposes. We do not use this information to build advertising profiles.
We do not offer website account registration and do not collect website login credentials because the website does not provide user accounts.
We do not use advertising SDKs or advertising tracking on the marketing website as currently operated.
10. Support Communications
If you email support@dictoeaso.com, we receive the email address you use, the message content, and any attachments or screenshots you choose to send.
We use support communications to respond to your request, troubleshoot issues, maintain security, handle disputes, and comply with legal obligations. Support email is not an App registration email because the App does not require account registration.
Please do not include passwords, payment card details, government identification numbers, private images, or other sensitive personal information in your support request unless necessary to resolve your issue.
11. How Information Is Used
We use information as follows:
- On-device data is used to provide practice features you request, remember preferences and progress on that device, run recognition and optional translations, enable deletion or reset features you trigger, and support optional sharing or export you initiate.
- Store purchase information we receive from Apple or Google is used for sales reporting, refunds support, tax and compliance, and fraud prevention.
- Website technical logs are used to deliver the site, protect against abuse, and maintain operations.
- Support emails are used to respond and maintain reasonable support records.
We do not sell personal information.
12. Service Providers and Disclosure
We may use service providers that help us operate the website, email support, or process limited store-related reporting. They may process information only as needed to provide services to us.
We may disclose information if required by law, legal process, or to protect rights, safety, and security, where applicable. For device-local learning data, DictoEaso typically does not hold a server-side copy to disclose.
We do not share your custom decks or transcripts with third parties as part of a DictoEaso cloud sync service because we do not operate such a service.
13. Retention and Local Data Deletion
13.1 Local learning data
Local learning data remains on your device until you delete it using in-app deletion features where available, clear app storage, use in-app reset tools where available, or uninstall the App.
Uninstalling the App typically removes App sandbox data, but operating-system backups, exports you saved elsewhere, or copies you shared outside the App may remain outside DictoEaso’s control.
DictoEaso cannot remotely delete content stored only on your device.
13.2 Support emails
Support emails we receive are retained as reasonably needed to handle your request and for legitimate business or legal needs. You may ask us to review or delete support correspondence we hold by contacting support@dictoeaso.com, subject to legal retention requirements.
13.3 No account deletion process
The App does not create user accounts. There is no account deletion flow for App learning data stored only on your device beyond the local deletion and uninstall options described above.
14. User Choices and Privacy Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain information about personal data we hold.
For learning data stored on your device, access, correction, and deletion are primarily performed on your device (edit decks, delete records, change nickname, use in-app deletion or reset where available, or uninstall the App).
For privacy questions or requests relating to information we actually hold (for example, support emails or limited store reporting records), contact support@dictoeaso.com. We will respond as required by applicable law.
15. Use by Minors
The App does not require users to provide their date of birth and does not use an age-verification process. Parents and legal guardians are responsible for supervising a minor’s use of the App, including device permissions, imported content, sharing activities, and support communications.
We do not knowingly operate child accounts or parent-managed App accounts for learning content because this App experience does not provide account registration.
If you believe we have received a minor’s personal information through support channels in a manner inconsistent with law, contact support@dictoeaso.com and we will take appropriate steps.
16. Security
We design the App so sensitive learning content stays on your device by default. No method of electronic storage or transmission is perfectly secure. You are responsible for securing your device (passcode, OS updates, and who can unlock the device).
17. International Processing
Because core learning data is stored on your device, it remains in whatever country your device is located. If you contact us by email or visit our website, that activity may be processed in Canada or other locations where we or our service providers operate.
18. Policy Updates
We may update this Policy from time to time. The “Last Updated” date will change when we do. For material changes, we will provide reasonable notice in the App, on our website, or by other appropriate means where practical.
This Policy (Document version 3.0) replaces prior cloud-account-oriented DictoEaso privacy descriptions for this local App experience.
